Freekeh 400g

Freekeh  (pronounced ‘freak-eh’) is young, green wheat that is gently roasted and rubbed to remove the tough outer husk, leaving behind a part-roasted kernel.

Harvested when young the wheat retains more protein and minerals and is very high in fibre, with three times as much fibre as brown rice, and twice as much as quinoa.

Freekeh has a firm, chewy texture with a slight smokey flavour and makes a great alternative to rice or barely.

Contains wheat, may contain traces of tree nuts and sesame.
